It’s a beautiful Edwardian hotel in the building of the former headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, with views of the Bar Walls and The Minster. The rooms are plush and luxurious. Saturday 25th December
A traditional Christmas breakfast greets you on the big day. Then we recommended a leisurely walk around York city walls to take in some of the most picturesque sights of the city on a crisp Christmas morning. Christmas lunch and all the trimmings are served in The Oak Room and we will have a visit from a very important guest, Santa, who’ll have presents for all the children.
Spend the afternoon relaxing in our Garden Room with a cup of tea and homemade Christmas cake, in the evening enjoy a selection of board games, then indulge in our Christmas buffet.
Sunday 26th December
Following a leisurely breakfast, take advantage of the many tourist attractions in York, including the world famous cobbled Shambles, or shop until you drop in The Boxing Day sales! Then head off to the Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, at the York Theatre Royal (we’ve included the tickets in your stay) or enjoy Thors Winter Tipi and get 10% off your drinks tab, included for our hotel residents.
Monday 27th December
Breakfast is served and then it’s time to say goodbye. If you’re staying on, why not unwind in our leisure club which comes complete with, a pool, a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room or head out and see the sights and attractions in the historic York city centre.”

The Judge’s Lodging – Ideal for York Christmas Market

The Judge’s Lodging has a great position in the centre of York, with a beautiful courtyard bar, where you can sit and watch the world go by. At Christmas, there are often stalls of the York Christmas Market within the grounds. Another hotel very close to The Theatre Royal as well as The Museum Gardens.

The Churchill Hotel is on Bootham which is a short walk from the city centre. It’s just a seven minute walk from the York Theatre Royal where you can enjoy a fantastic pantomime!
“We offer a full board three day package covering Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We’re busy planning our Christmas package for 2021 and hope to have all the details finalised by the end of June. We’re optimistic that by Christmas 2021 we’ll be able to get back to near normality (in fact we’ve already booked the pantomime tickets for you all).”
