5 Best Chinese Restaurants in York – I love Chinese food and we have a lot of great Chinese restaurants in York.  Here are a few suggestions, both in York city centre and on the outskirts.

The Mulan

3, Tower Court, Oakdale Rd, York YO30 4YL

The Mulan Chinese Restaurant is not in the city centre – in fact it’s in more of an industrial estate.  This does mean very easy parking and a good sized premises,  It’s very near the Vue Cinema and Ten Pin Bowling.  It’s my favourite Chinese restaurant in York.  Courteous service, nice surroundings and excellent food.  If you are looking for a lunchtime meal then the lunch special menu absolutely can not be beaten.  On a weekday, a two course lunch will set you back just £7.20 while a three course Sunday lunch £9.90 per head.

Another out of town Chinese with easy access on the ring road.  “Maxis serves Cantonese and Peking cuisine prepared by experienced chefs from Hong Kong and China. Choose from a la carte, set menus, banquets and dim sum with plenty of choice for vegetarians too.  A great-value lunch offer is available from Monday to Friday so why not come and join us.”  The lunchtime menu costs £8.50 for two courses as is open 12-3 which is later than The Mulan if you have missed their lunchtime slot.

Regency Chinese Restaurant

16 Barbican Road, York, YO10 5AA

The Regency Chinese Restaurant is housed in  a large imposing building (used to be a pub!) opposite the Barbican Centre.  It’s on the very outskirts of the city centre, so more of a walk than if it was in the city centre itself.  They have a car park.  They serve an all -you-can-eat buffet.
