My cousin Craig recently started his own pop-up barbecue food business.  You might have seen him at The Knavesmire Pub or at Kennedy’s in town.  He is also serving once a month at SPARK.  You can learn more from the Rack ‘n’ Roll Facebook page here.

We decided to surprise/terrify him by turning up to give him an impromptu review!

He serves all manner of barbecue food such as full racks of American Bourbon BBQ Pork Ribs, slow-cooked, pulled pork, wings and loaded fries (or rice).  He tells me that the Limp Brizket (smoked beef short rib) is very popular too.

Hubby tried the ‘Master of Porkets’ – BBQ pulled pork on ciabatta which came with the house slaw and pickles.  (You can’t see the pickles on the photo as hubby hates them and said not to put them on!)

I chose the ‘South of Heaven’ chicken wings served with a spicy house buffalo sauce. The wings are smoked first so you get the smoky flavour and then the hit of heat with the hot sauce. These were really delicious and served with pork fat fries.  Thoroughly recommended.

The star of the show which we didn’t try on this occasion is the Headliner rack of ribs with pork fat fries and slaw priced at just £20 for the full rack.  It’s definitely one I would recommend!

I asked him where he would be next and here are the list of dates!
