Evil Eye York Cocktail and Gin Bar

42 Stonegate, York, YO1 8AS

Evil Eye in York is a quirky bar on Stonegate in York.  Their website says they are “Home of the bizarre, weird and wonderful.” I have no photos as I haven’t visited since I was a student but the fact that they are in the Guinness Book of Records for their Gin Shop is very intriguing!  They have a huge gin menu.

Chapter House Bar in The Principal, York

Station Road, York, YO24 1AA

The Principal is the large and beautiful hotel next to York Station.  If you are early for your train or at the start of a day out in York, it’s an ideal place to stop for a gin or cocktail.  The interior is gorgeously decorated and there are comfortable tables and sofas in the Chapter House Bar.  We tried a Bramble Cocktail, made from  Tanqueray gin, crème de mûre, lemon and sugar.   They have a large gin menu.

Circles Cafe and Gin Bar, York

East Lodge, Lendal Bridge, York, YO1 7DP

Circles Cafe and Gin Bar is housed in a cute, quirky building (former toll booth!) right on the end of Lendal Bridge, overlooking the River Ouse.  They have “a fully-licensed bar stocked with a selection of speciality and local gins, classic or crafted beers and signature cocktails.  Fall in love with the quirky, listed building that carries so much unique history having been a toll office in a previous life. It boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the river.”

Tank And Paddle

Merchant Exchange, Bridge St, York YO1 6DD

Homed in a former merchants building in the heart of York, The Tank and Paddle is a cool vintage styled craft beer joint. While retaining the original industrial charm of the building we have created a new balcony that is a real sun trap for those summer days and nights.

We also offer a wide range of gins that include regional favourites, Yorkshire Dales Distillery alongside classic blends like Slingsby. Customers will also have the opportunity to experience Gin masterclasses, learning all there is to know about the spirit, how to select the right garnishes and how to recreate their favourite tipples.
