Great Places for Wine Tasting in York – There are not lots of places to try a wine tasting experience in York city centre, but the ones we have are excellent quality. You can try a wine tasting experience on its own or go for a wine and food pairing experience.
Wine Tasting Events with Emma, The Wine Lady

North South are a relaxed cafe bar on Bootham. They run wine tasting events – check their Facebook page for details. “if you enjoy great quality food, snacks, coffees, beers, wines and a chilled atmosphere, you will feel right at home in North South.”
Pairings Wine Bar

Pairings Wine Bar is tucked away on Castlegate behind the Coppergate Shopping area. It’s a lovely elegant place to eat and drink. They have several different wine flights as well as different wine and food pairing experiences. I have tried a wine and food pairing experience and it was fabulous. We tried several different wines paired with fine cheese. The sommelier talked us through each course. Very enjoyable!
Yorkshire Wine School – Wine Tasting Evenings

The Yorkshire Wine School offers regular wine tasting evenings. “Our venue in York is the elegant Hotel du Vin (YO24 1AX) on The Mount; from here we regularly run our popular Saturday courses, (11 am-4 pm) which includes a two course lunch at the hotel’s award winning bistro and a glass of Champagne on arrival. This course makes a really special present and is available as a gift voucher- perfect for the wine lover in your life! We now also host a range of midweek evening courses in York. Love Cheese – Cheese and Wine Tasting York

Love Cheese have lots of different cheese and wine tasting sessions. They even have ‘Bubbles and Brie’ which sounds utterly wonderful to me – two of my favourite things paired together! “If you are ever in York feel free to pop in and see us, we’re based on Gillygate, only a stones throw from the historic Minster. You will be more than welcome to sample some of the cheeses or sit with a cheeseboard and a glass of wine in our cafe and garden.”
