I am a frequent visitor to The Mulan Chinese Restaurant at Clifton Moor. So frequent that I have taken photos on many occasions but never got round to writing them a proper review, so here we are, with a proper review!
Firstly, the location seems a bit out of the way, but is very close to Vue Cinema and Ten Pin bowling. More importantly parking is really easy there! The restaurant is quite large inside, it has a nice open and light feel. The staff are polite and courteous and most importantly the food is excellent. It is definitely my favourite of the Chinese restaurants in York.
What I also love is their lunchtime set menu. It is superb value. On a lunchtime you can choose a starter and a main, with rice for £7.20 a head. This is valid Monday-Saturday. On a Sunday you can choose three courses for £9.90 a head.
You can choose from a large range of starters that include dishes like Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup, Spring Rolls and Barbecue Spare Ribs.
Then there are lots of main courses to choose from like Crunchy beef in OK Sauce, Chicken with Mushrooms, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef with Ginger and Spring Onions and Chicken Chow Mein.
This really is one of our favourite places to go as a family. I often take my mum for a midweek lunch or the kids on a weekend after we have been to the cinema. It’s a very convenient location and just a great all rounder for a meal. Fab Chinese food in a comfortable setting.
