York Minster Refectory – Christmas 2024

York Minster Refectory is in an incredible location with fantastic views of York Minster. They serve breakfast, have an all day menu as well as light bites.
This is one for celebrating in style!
We visited for lunch and it was excellent as you would expect from a restaurant run by Andrew Pern and his team. British classics done with the best ingredients and with flare.

Rise Restaurant at The Grand
Christmas lunch at The Rise is the perfect festive treat for hotel residents and begins with a canapé reception followed by a hearty lunch. This option is ideal for families; Father Christmas will make a special appearance during lunch and the tables will be dressed with festive decorations.
The Pavilion Hotel Afternoon Tea

Christmas Lunch can be booked 12.15 until 1.45pm. We make Christmas Day very special – let us look after you in style, and we’ll even do the washing up! It’s a lovely place to get together with friends and family with roaring log fires to set the scene as you enjoy a pre-lunch glass of Champagne. You’ll enjoy our menu, superb crackers and a warm and friendly service! We will require pre-orders four weeks before your event so we can prepare place cards with menu choices for your party.
£110 per person which includes a Champagne reception. £70 for children. (3 years and younger are free)
The Judge’s Lodging
9 Lendal, York YO1 8AQ
The Judge’s Lodging has a great position in the centre of York, with a beautiful courtyard bar, where you can sit and watch the world go by. At Christmas, there are often stalls of the York Christmas Market within the grounds of The Judge’s Lodging. Another hotel very close to The Theatre Royal as well as The Museum Gardens.

The Fat Badger

The Fat Badger resides within an ancient building oozing with character and charm. Their beer garden nestles next to the Bar Walls and is a great place to meet friends outdoors in the summer. In the winter they have heated igloos in their beer garden, making it a year round destination.

Guy Fawkes Inn

The Guy Fawkes Inn is a “medieval inn in York that stands in the shadow of York Minster, the very birthplace of the notorious plotter, Guy Fawkes.” They offer “classic British food in our AA rosette restaurant.”
Set in our a la carte restaurant within the shadow of The Minster, The Guy Fawkes Inn provides the ideal place to join loved ones to celebrate Christmas Day.

JJs Bar and Restaurant

JJ’s Bar and Restaurant can be found at Allerthorpe Country and Golf Club. Although a few miles out of York, it’s location and the lovely outdoor space makes this a fab restaurant for a drive out.
They have a fun, eclectic, American inspired menu with burgers, hot dogs and smoked ribs as well as more international dishes. They have a huge beer garden space, free parking and are dog friendly. Nearby Allerthorpe Woods are perfect for dog walking to work up an appetite!
