What are the Best Bars in York?

Where to find the Best Bars in York – Whether you are looking for a cool new bar or cosy, traditional pub, York has plenty of everything to go around.  It is famously said that York has a different pub for every day of the year!  I can’t list them all here, but I can tell you some of my favourites and those of my local friends.  I’ve broken down the list into several other lists based on the sort of bar you are looking for!

There are some fabulous bars where you can sample some more unusual gins in York.  Indeed York has one bar that is in the Guinness Book of Records for their Gin Shop!  Some of the bars run great gin tasting classes too, which are perfect for a group of friends or hen night.

We love a good pub lunch in a nice country pub.  There are some lovely village pubs within half an hour’s drive from York.  With beer gardens, large car parks and some lovely pub grub too!  Oftentimes a country pub is more family-friendly too with a play area for the children or a nice outdoor space for the to run around.
