We recently visited The Piccadilly in York for a relaxed Sunday brunch followed by a (less relaxed!) hour in their Harry Potter themed escape room.   The atmosphere in the cafe bar was lively, with decor featuring up and coming York artists.  There is lots of seating inside and a couple of pavement tables outside too if you want to watch the world go by.

We visited with our teenage kids.  If you look at the above photo, you will see plug points with USB jacks if you need to charge your phones or tablets.

My hubby and I both went for the Full English Breakfast (Sausage, Back Bacon, Egg, Five Beans, Roast Cherry Tomato, Black Pudding Hash, Toasted Sourdough).  The egg was perfectly cooked and the sausage was of excellent quality.

The sourdough was lovely too, especially covered in the two pats of butter!

The kids tried the Crisp Streaky Bacon with Fried Eggs, on Toasted sourdough, which was very popular and something I’d try another time.

Again, perfectly cooked eggs.

Finally my other teen is a big salmon fan so went for the Smoked Salmon, with Scrambled eggs and Toasted Sourdough.

They wolfed it all, so I consider that a win!  As well as brunch Rehab served pizzas from 4pm.  They also serve regular hot drinks as well as Liqueur Hot Drinks and Cocktails.

We had a great brunch at Rehab and would recommend the escape room too.  It’s wizard themed with lots of magical type puzzles and some great technology too.  What’s more, you get to pose with all the wizard accessories for your photo if/when you do escape!

The sign says that we escaped within 46 minutes (I was surprised – didn’t think we were going to get out at one point!).  It was a fun morning with good food and lots of laughs!
