If you’re looking for one of York’s best brunch spots, Manahatta on Little Stonegate is a perfect place to try. They have just launched private karaoke rooms which was perfect to pair with their bottomless brunch! Manahatta is a gorgeous bar inspired by New York glamour.
Expect neon lights, plush booths, and a lively atmosphere from the moment you step inside.
We tried their bottomless brunch. For two full hours you can enjoy unlimited drinks — from prosecco and spritzes to cocktails and beer — alongside a fab brunch dish. Before I go into that though, let me tell you about the karaoke room. It’s right at the very top of the building, and you get your own private room which is soundproofed – so you can warble away to your heart’s content, safe in the knowledge that no-one outside your party is listening and judging!
There are plenty of tracks to choose from, complete with words on the screen and two microphones. You can set the volume to whatever you prefer, so can have low background music on while you eat and chat and loud music on after the drinks have kicked in and you are on your feet belting out ‘I am the one and only’.
You can also change the colours of the lights in the room from subtle to full blown disco ball! Genuinely, as you can see below (!) we had a great time!
Ok, on to the bottomless brunch, as I mentioned earlier, you get two hours which is always nice (goes fast though!) and it’s available every day.
Drinks include Prosecco, Coors, Aperol Spritz as well as Bacardi and various cocktails (and some non-alcoholic drinks). The service was friendly and attentive, with staff making sure our glasses stayed topped up.
We were also brought a bottle of Prosecco as well as our first round of drinks, which I think is a lovely touch and adds to the celebratory feel!
You can choose any dish from the Brunch and Lunch section of their main menu, or upgrade to a selection of other dishes for an extra fiver. I tried the ‘Breakfast Behaviour’ (Crispy bacon, free range fried egg, whipped ricotta cheese, smoked chilli jam, watercress and salsa verde. Served in a warm focaccia roll with mini hash browns), which was lovely (great bacon!).
While the ‘Holy Cluck’ was very popular with the others (Grilled cheese meets chicken parmigiana. Breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese in toasted sourdough.
Served with a herby marinara dipping sauce.).
We also tried the Pastrami and pickle bagel (Pastrami, honey & mustard slaw, pickled red cabbage and
carrot, rocket, sliced pickles, crispy onions and mayo).
And a New Yorker burger from the upgraded menu (Beef burger, smoked pancetta, American cheese, diced
onions, jalapeños, pickles, mayo, French’s mustard, ketchup.)
Oh and at the end of the visit they brought these shots with a firework which was a brilliant way to end the party!
I would thoroughly recommend Manahatta’s bottomless brunch with or without karaoke, but we completely loved the ‘private party’ feel of the karaoke room. Absolutely ideal for birthday parties and hen nights. I also think it would make a great Christmas party with lots of Christmas tunes to sing along to!
