York Cycle Rally 2023
24th & 25th June 2023 at the Knavesmire, York
The historic York Rally returns in 2023! Join us for a free, family-friendly and 100% volunteer-organised grand weekend of cycling on York’s Knavesmire.
Famous since 1945 as the annual ‘gathering of the cycling clans’, the York Rally draws cyclists from across the country for a friendly weekend of cycling activities, food and music.
It’s also popular with day visitors from York and the area. There’s free parking, free entry and just about all activities on site are free too.
It’s a grand, traditional and refreshingly non-commercial celebration of cycling in a family-friendly atmosphere, with camping available on site. We’ll look forward to seeing you in June!
Bottomless Afternoon Sea at Pearly Cow
Saturday 10th June 12.00pm-3.30pm
Pearly Cow is devoted to respecting what thrives nearby offering only THE best produce from land and sea. And Afternoon Sea is no exception.
They’re putting on an incredible layered spread of the best quality seafood alongside a bottomless supply of QV wines rosé.
They’ve teamed up with our friends over at Quatre Vin wines to bring you a fantastic afternoon filled with tiers of fresh seafood (think oysters, smoked salmon scones and garlicky scallops. Plus some added extras like old school prawn cocktails and a bowl of mussels) alongside a bottomless supply of their QV Côtes de Provence Rosé. It’s a match made in (seafood) heaven!

The End of the World Jukebox – composers and players re-imagine the pop songs they would like to hear if the world was coming to an end: The concert will feature works by Tim Brooks, Murphy McCaleb, Naomi Perera, Anna Snow, Christopher Fox and Tony Adams
Hands-on Family Wildlife Day – 25th June 2023
Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens, Stewart Ln, Stillingfleet, York YO19 6HP
The hands-on family wildlife day at the organically run Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens just outside York will return for its 10th year on Sunday 25 June 2023 11am to 4pm.
The fun and educational event is thought to be unique in Yorkshire, facilitating hands on close up access to a diverse range of Yorkshire wildlife and the chance to meet people from numerous wildlife and conservation organisations.
Dissect owl pellets provided by famous East Yorkshire wildlife artist and conservationist Robert Fuller, meet a rescue bat, dip in the wildlife pond and see if you can identify whos poo is whose. See birds close up at a bird ringing demonstration.
Wildlife friendly features include insect hotels, hedgehog houses, log piles, wildlife ponds, a wild flower meadow and bird boxes. 10 different species of butterfly, 300 species of moth, 9 species of bumblebee and over 45 species of birds are regularly recorded.
Advanced family tickets for the event cost £20 and advance booking is recommended at https://stillingfleetlodgenurseries.co.uk/. Admission can also be purchased on the day at £8 adult and £4 child.

Once a month they’ll be welcoming our good friends the Karl Mullen Jazz Trio in to play your requests as well as classics by Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, Nina Simone and songs from the Great American Songbook.
You can even choose your cut from fillet, sirloin or ribeye. And there’s a choice of sides too including skin on fries, charred greens or chicory salad.
