Sunday Dinner at Tykes Restaurant. We recently stayed over for the night at Sandburn Hall Hotel. You can see our review here. I wanted to give the restaurant – Tykes – a separate review as you might be looking for a meal rather than a hotel stay.
We visited on a Sunday evening and the Sunday Lunch menu was being served all day.
My husband decided to order the pulled pork burger rather than go for Sunday lunch. It was, as you can see, quite huge! Excellent chips too!
I wanted to try the Sunday Roast so went for the Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding. The beef was thickly cut, there were plenty of roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding wasn’t overdone. Oh and there was LOTS of gravy!
This was served with seasonal vegetables of carrots, parsnips, sprouts, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese.
The above tureen of veg and the cauliflower cheese were for two people. It was huge and we didn’t finish it, but it was very very nice!
For dessert we tried the ice cream (you can choose three scoops from various flavours):
The Banoffee Sticky Toffee Pudding:
Rather than dessert I went for the cheeseboard which was served with grapes and celery. All very fresh.
Tykes is somewhere you can feel comfortable, receive proper good quality food in good portions and for a good price. It would make a cracking place for a large family gathering for Sunday Lunch!
We were invited to visit and review Sandburn Hall Hotel. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
