The Picadilly – Harry Potter Themed Escape Room

You will find The Picadilly on Piccadilly (!). As well as being a cafe bar that serves brunch during the day and pizza and cocktails in the evening, they have a Harry Potter escape room in their basement. Perfect for fans of the boy wizard, this escape room will have you thinking you are in Borgin and Burkes on Noctern Alley. You need to solve puzzles and create potions in order to escape. Perfect for grown up Harry Potter fans or those age 10+
We haven’t reviewed the escape room, but we have reviewed Brunch at The Piccadilly here.
LockedIn Games – Escape Room in York
Club Chambers, Museum St, York YO1 7DN
LockedIn Games is “a live escape experience in York designed to test your wits and get your heart racing. You and your friends will be locked in one of our custom-built rooms and given just 60 minutes to get yourselves out. The idea may be simple but the reality is anything but. So, can you make the great escape?”
We have tried ‘Rags to Riches’ (up to 6 people) and ‘Caught in the Act’ (up to 4 people) so far at LockedIn Games. We really enjoyed both. Lots of great puzzles with just enough help from the room host, Dan. They were friendly and welcoming and we have thoroughly caught the escape room bug now!
Room themes: Boneyard Cemetery, Rags to Riches and Caught in the Act.
4A Colliergate, York YO1 8BP
Gr8escape is just opposite Barnitts on Colliergate. “One hour is all you have to solve the various codes and puzzles to escape from York’s First and most challenging Escape Rooms. We can accommodate up to 18 players at the same time. Experience York’s first ultra violet themed room in your search for the Lost Treasure of Atlantis. Try using your potions and wand skills to take a magical journey through The Ministry of Wizards room to expose human imposters. However if travelling is more your style why not take a trip across the pond to try and find the stolen Manhattan Star diamond in our New York Diamond room.”
Room themes: Ministry of Wizards, New York Room, Lost Treasure of Atlantis, Think Outside the Box
Mindlock Games say they are a “fast paced, fun experience for 2-30 players based right in the City Centre opposite Clifford’s Tower. In our series of unique games, each group is placed in a room and given a set amount of time to escape by solving puzzles, using strategy, creativity and logic. The goal is simple; to get out in time! We have games which are designed specifically for teams of 2-6 players, and all take place in a custom-built, themed escape game room. With five rooms available (one double room of our Viking Valhalla game) at present our capacity is 30 players playing at one time. The recommended age for our games is 8 years and older.”
Room themes: Viking Valhalla, V90 (a deadly virus game!), The Dark Arts, Cluedo
