Yesterday I met up with an old friend who I haven’t seen in far too long, for a good catch up.   We went along to try out Comal, the new Mexican pop-up restaurant menu at Kennedy’s on Little Stonegate.

Kennedy's York Review

It might be the first time I’ve been in Kennedy’s during the day. It’s usually somewhere we pop in for a drink on an evening as they often put on live events (think bands and open mic nights).

I love Mexican food and thought the menu looked really differrent (and was very reasonably priced).

I tried out the Tocino Tacos – Belly pork, pineapple bbq sauce, charred jalapenos, red onion and guacamole.  Except I asked them for no guacamole, because – it give me the ick!

I loved these, so fresh and tasty with a nice crunch from the crackling on the belly pork.

My friend Lara chose the Pollo Loco Tacos – crispy chicken, pickled cabbage, chilli sauce and guacamole for the weirdos who like it.

We also went with these fabulous jalapeno poppers which were absolutely full of cream cheese and made for perfect comfort food.

The food is served as small plates so is perfect for group share/mix and match arrangement.   I’ve included more menu photos below.  I would definitely do tacos again but would love to try the quesadillas too.
