This week my eldest teen finished his GCSE exams, so I took him for a little treat – brunch at Mama Doreen’s Emporium – Yorkshire. (It’s up at Monks Cross, if you don’t know it).
The brunch is served very much like an afternoon tea. It’s basically afternoon tea breakfast! For two people there are two layers of savoury items these include a toasted bagel with scrambled eggs and sausages or bacon and a cheese scone cream cheese and homemade chutney.
Sweet items (the important bit!!) then include cinnamon toast, seasonal berry coulis, a Danish pastry, and a blueberry muffin drizzled with white chocolate.
Just look at the sparkly strawberries though!
Oh and you get a shot of fruit juice, unlimited tea or a large Americano.
They also have themed brunches and afternoon teas throughout the year which do look fabulous. Check out their Taylor Swift signalong afternoon tea, and I have seen Disney ones too (right up my street!).
Now I was quite lucky as I managed to snag a voucher from YorkMix for brunch for two for £19. Normally it’s £21 each so it’s not a cheap breakfast. It’s definitely more of a treat, but it does make for a fun celebration.
