Last night we went to see 2:22 A Ghost Story at The Grand Opera House. I didn’t really know what to expect but I had seen lots of articles about how good it was last year so I was excited when I heard it was coming to York.
It stars Vera Chok (Hollyoaks, Cobra) who plays Lauren, Jay McGuiness (The Wanted, BIG! The Musical, Rip It Up) who plays Ben, Fiona Wade (Emmerdale, Silent Witness) plays Jenny, George Rainsford (Call the Midwife, Casualty) who plays Sam.
Full disclosure – I was particularly keen to see George Rainsford as I’ve always had a soft spot for him since his Call the Midwife days!
It was the press night last night but the play is here until this Saturday, the 4th of May – so get your skates on! It’s a cracking ghost story, really atmospheric with lots of jump scares (I jumped many, many times!). It kept me enthralled throughout and was very funny too, which does not always go hand in hand with a ghost story.
It’s a play that will stay with me for a long time – take my advice and go to see it, you won’t regret it!
Also, I woke up in the middle of the night last night and was too scared to check the time!
