Yesterday Bella Italia launched their new festive menu and we went along to the Low Petergate restaurant to review it. We were particularly interested to check out their new bottomless drinks deal. Now, this is valid from now until the 6th of January (celebration of Twelfth Night anyone?).
Bottomless drinks are just £15 for a 2-hour slot when purchased with a main meal. The drinks included are prosecco, house wine and draught beer (which was Stella). If you are dining with a driver or non-drinker they can either purchase regular drinks or go for the bottomless soft drinks option for a fiver (soft drinks included are: Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Schwepps Lemonade, Orange Fanta).
Often when you have a bottomless brunch the whole table needs to partake, but this isn’t the case with this deal, which was great since I was driving. One of my friends ordered the prosecco and they brought a full bottle just for her (which she managed and then ordered an extra glass afterwards!).
Even if you are not up for a super boozy night, if you are a prosecco drinker and planning to have at least three glasses then the deal is worth it as a single glass of prosecco is priced at £7.29.
We also tried out the new set menu that includes festive dishes. This is priced at two courses for £19.95 and three for £22.95. We opted for two courses and went for a main and dessert (because, you know, pudding!). I tries the festive Christmas Carbonara (this came with a £2 supplement). What made it festive I hear you ask? Well, it was topped with crispy sage, pigs in blankets and button sprouts. (Sprouts, ew, I took them off but I am sure there are some strange folk out there who like them!).
One of my friends went for a pepperoni pizza (always a good choice I think), you can see it was a decent size:
My other friend chose to be worthy and went for the seasonal salad with roasted chicken, which did admittedly look very pretty:
For dessert, we tried out the festive Chocolate Orange Fondant:
The Cookie Dough with ice cream:
And a classic Tiramisu:
I do like a set menu for a good price point and the addition of the bottomless drinks – especially as the bottomless drinks are for two hours – make this a great option for a Christmas night out.
We were invited to visit and review. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
